Private Lessons
Private lessons are available in a limited number of sessions each month for students and adults seeking focused, one-on-one instruction.
These sessions are best suited for building foundational skills, learning to use a sewing machine, or receiving guidance on a specific project.
Lessons are structured to focus on skill development and guided project work within a set timeframe. Ongoing or more complex design work is best supported within a class setting, where skills are developed progressively over time.
Private lessons are offered during select daytime hours each month.
To inquire about current availability, please email with a brief description of what you would like to work on. Available times will be shared from current openings once we receive your inquiry.

Private Lesson Focus Areas
Sessions are focused and goal-oriented, typically centered around one of the following areas:
-
Beginner Sewing Instruction
Learn to use a sewing machine and build confidence through a simple, structured project such as a tote or pillow. Emphasis is placed on foundational skills including machine operation, seam accuracy, and finishing techniques.
-
How to Use YOUR Sewing Machine
Bring your own machine and learn how to thread, adjust settings, and understand its features. This session focuses on building comfort and independence so you can confidently use your machine at home.
-
Hand Sewing Instruction
Learn essential hand sewing techniques such as hemming, mending, and attaching buttons. This session is ideal for building precision and control through foundational stitches used in garment construction.
-
Intermediate Sewing Skills
For students with prior experience, this session focuses on strengthening technique through guided project work. Skills may include seam finishes, working with interfacing, and improving construction accuracy.
-
Simple Pattern Making and Draping
An introductory look at how patterns are developed, either through simple flat pattern concepts or basic draping on a dress form. This session is exploratory and focuses on understanding process rather than completing complex custom designs.
-
Advanced Sewing Techninques
For experienced students looking to refine specific skills such as zipper insertion, sleeve construction, or garment finishing. Sessions are focused on technique development rather than full garment creation.
Private lessons are designed to support skill development within a focused session. For more in-depth or ongoing design work, weekly classes provide a more comprehensive path.
