GARMENT DETAILS The Hadley is drapey, fluid, and sophisticated. It’s the semi-formal top that you need for work or to throw on over your jeans for a night out. View A has a jewel neck, a pleat at the back neckline, and bracelet length sleeves. View B is sleeveless and features a soft v-neck. Both are subtly geometric as they have centre seams in the front and back as well as a wide hem.
Techniques involved include setting sleeves and applying facings.
The Hadley Top is a Confident Beginner sewing pattern.
FABRIC AND NOTIONS
Suggested Fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, rayon, voile, or lawn. Avoid fabrics that are too stiff since this top requires a bit of drape. Extra fabric may be needed to match plaids, stripes, or one-way design prints.
Notions: Thread; fusible interfacing; hook and eye.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
View A: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/8 – 3 yd (2.2 – 2.7 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/8 – 2 5/8 yd (2 – 2.4 m).
View B: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/2 – 2 yd (1.4 – 1.8 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 yd (1.4 – 1.6 m).
Sizing: US 0 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 18). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
PAPER PATTERN DETAILS
This product is a pre-printed paper pattern. You will receive an instruction booklet and tissue pattern tucked inside a paper envelope. Pattern is printed in the USA on recycled paper with soy-based inks.
