We offer private sewing lessons.  Our private sewing lessons and fashion illustration lessons for children, teens and adults can cover beginner, intermediate and advanced sewing, fashion sketching, and portfolio development.

• Private lessons are available in two-hour increments and are $150.  
  (Includes a private instructor and use of the sewing studio, machines and basic sewing supplies).

• We work on easy to use bernette sewing machines in our fully equipped sewing studio. You can even bring in your own sewing machine for a lesson on how to use it!

Beginner Sewing Instruction

Learn to use a sewing machine and make a fun project such as a tote bag or throw pillow! 

How to Use YOUR Sewing Machine

Do you have a machine that you would like to learn to use?  Bring it in for a lesson on threading, understanding all of those buttons and knobs and knowing how to use the accessories that came with your machine.  We will cover all of the basics of getting your machine set up and sewing!

Hand Sewing Instruction

Learn to hand sew with a needle and thread to attach buttons, hem a skirt, mend a tear, or just to explore a variety of hand stitches for garment sewing.

Intermediate Sewing Skills

Do you have a garment or accessory project that you would like to make, but don't see a class?  We can create one for you.  Learn some techniques such as lining, interfacing, hand basting, etc.

Simple Pattern Making and Draping

Learn how to create a basic pattern or sloper with your body measurements. Prefer to learn draping rather than flat pattern?  You can learn the fundamentals of draping fabric on a dress form to create a pattern.

Portfolio Creation Assistance

Perfect for high school & college applications, like the Governor's School for the Arts, Fashion Institute of Technology and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Advanced Sewing Techninques

 Such as inserting a zipper, sewing an inset sleeve, or adding some seam finishing techniques to your skill set.

Fashion Sketching and Illustration

 From the basic Croquis (fashion figure) to fabric rendering, we can take your sketching skills to the next level!
