Learn to Sew Session 3:: All About Patterns

Ready to start sewing your own clothes, but not sure where to start? This introductory class will break down the basics of garment sewing and help build your confidence in sewing wearable clothing. In this class you will learn how to take your measurements and how to read a garment sewing pattern. You will learn how to find your size, trace a pattern and cut it out. We will go over all that goes into preparing your fabric for sewing. We will look at indie patterns as well as the "Big 4" (Butterick, Simplicity, McCalls and Vogue Patterns). You will learn to read a sewing pattern, understand how it relates to fabric and methods of cutting & tracing, marking and some basic adjustment techniques.

Please note, you will NOT be sewing in this class. I recommend this as a primer to beginner garment sewing or after taking one of my beginner sewing classes.
